October is the season of change and reflection: The beauty of Autumn is on full display as nature provides its very own feast for the eyes, a dance of miraculous colors that symbolize life, death, and the process in-between. Alt-folk trio All the Luck in the World pay homage to October’s magic in their new single “Golden October,” an immersive ballad that tugs at the heartstrings.

Don’t you fall in I’m not caught
I was all in you were not
Let’s not fall out
come on, we tried
when we said that we could
I guess we lied

Atwood Magazine is proud to be premiering “Golden October,” the lead single off All The Luck In The World’s forthcoming sophomore album, Haven (expected in the beginning of 2018). The Irish alternative folk trio of Neil Foot, Ben Connolly and Kelvin Barr follow up their eponymous 2014 debut with an emotionally emphatic explosion of sound and color that feels only too perfect for the current season, and the present month.

Golden October – All The Luck In The World
We have to grow and grow apart
there’s no halftime or restart
there is no restart
I told you, you could not
falter in my eyes
I might not believe that now,
but I meant it at the time

I swear that I meant it at the time

“‘Golden October’ was written maybe 3 years ago, so it kind of serves as a time capsule to us,” the band explains. “The inspiration and thought behind the song might no longer be as relevant in our lives, but it takes us back to when it was. The song is about accepting shortcomings and moving on positively, so in ways that’s a nice reminder to have.”

All the Luck in the World open their song with warm, subtle acoustic instrumentation that sets the stage for everything to come: Despite the issues alluded to throughout, there’s a greater sense of purpose and belonging that supercedes any problem that may befall the couple. The song builds, crests and trophs, but the sentiment remains the same: A feeling that once existed, forever exists in that moment.

For once, i’ve been listening
i’ve looked out and i’ve seen
that you and I suit distance
you are just a blindfold
you’re the wool over my eyes
you’re a white wolf wearing thin
in sheep skin
Won’t you take this and make something good out of it

We will change. Our emotions will change with us — but we are the compilation of all the people we once were: We cannot deny ourselves our own history. “Golden October” blooms with majesty and grace, poignant and powerful and resonating with deep harmonies and breathtaking melodies.

All The Luck In The World’s re-entrance to the world stage may not be loud and boisterous, but they succeed in turning heads their way through the sheer and utter beauty of their work: Enjoy “Golden October,” exclusively on Atwood Magazine!
