Life isn’t always easy and it isn’t always fun, but there plenty of moments throughout our existence where we can step out of line, and do things our way: Own the world around us like it’s our very own realized imagination. Raindear’s immersive “World Below” is a hazy daydream of possibility and potential that opens our eyes to the magic present in our everyday lives.

world below my chest
no more failures blow our minds
stardust on the rest
make me want you
make me blind
and again, again
I know my magic places
and I can, I can
teach you all the basics

Atwood Magazine is proud to be premiering “World Below,” the final single of 2018 from Raindear (out today, 12/7/2018). The moniker for Stockholm, Sweden’s Rebecca Bergcrantz, Raindear (often stylized RAINDEAR) is an alt-pop reckoning full of sweet passion and dynamic energy. The artist introduced herself through 2014’s The Game EP, eventually releasing her debut album Embers in 2016 and continuing with a series of singles and videos over the subsequent past two years.

“World Below” rounds out a year full of musical indulgence for Raindear, in which new songs like “Elephant Heart” and “SKY” have stunned listeners with their ethereal beauty and electronic grace. A cry full of passion, “World Below” serves as the cherry on top as Raindear embraces a world she’s made her own. “It’s edgy, sinful, playful and hazy,” she explains. “It’s the feeling of having the world wrapped around your finger for a while.

sky within my head
all my dreams have settled in
crawl up in my bed
fill my heart, embrace my sin
and again, again
I know my magic places
and I can, I can
teach you all the basics

A dreamy dance-pop euphoria full of dark synths and explosive refrains, “World Below” invites us to indulge in our own dreamy alternative worlds – and to see them brought to life. “I wrote this one after a wild summer night that ended up with a dance party in an abandoned train tunnel,” Raindear tells Atwood Magazine. “‘World Below’ stands for both an underground world and a wonderland to escape to, but also the feeling of watching everything from above and making the world your own playground for a minute.”

Echoing the rich indie and alt-pop sounds of CHVRCHES, BROODS, and even Halsey, “World Below” is a sweet and trippy delight for the sense. Raindear’s repetitive chorus gets caught on repeat in the mind, her proclamation of “again and again, I know my magic places” serving as a call-to-action for us to get up and seize the day. Whether you’re dancing your way into 2019 or looking for a brief escape from the everyday, Raindear’s “World Below” promises a wondrous journey full of magic and bliss.
