Britney Spears is one of the biggest stars in pop music history; the artist is well known for her singing, acting, and dancing talents, for which she has received numerous awards and accolades. Since 1998, Britney has topped the Billboard 200 nine times, holding five number-one albums and four number-one singles, received a Grammy for her dance performance in the Toxic music video, and she even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Most people can agree that Spears is a talented artist with an enviable career, but few saw the newest of her achievements coming.

On March 26th, 2020, Britney Spears revealed her talent for sprinting via her Instagram. The star shared photographic evidence of her staggering 5.97-second 100-meter sprint time to her 23 million followers and wrote the caption, “Ran my first 5! Getting over your fear of pushing it, in the beginning, is key. Once I did that I hit 5! Usually, I run 6 or 7, my first try was 9, and now I did it, whoop! 100-meter dash.” At first, fans were impressed, but unfortunately for Spears, some began to doubt her hard work and obvious athletic ability.

Britney was recently spotted training with a friend. Could it be for the Olympics?

Many doubted her claim because, before Spears, the official world record for a 100-meter sprint stood at 9.58 seconds and was set at the 2008 Olympic Games in Bejing by Usain Bolt. At first, it did seem unlikely that Britney Spears could beat the 6 foot 5 inches tall, Olympic gold medalist, but she has proved her doubters wrong. Today, it was confirmed by the Guinness World Records that Britney Spears does indeed hold the record for the fastest ever 100-meter sprint run by a human. Usain Bolt is reportedly extremely disappointed to hear that the star broke his record.

Sufficient video evidence and witness statements submitted to the Guinness World Records have verified that Spears has been hiding an incredible aptitude for running for 38 years.

Even more incredibly, as the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed until summer 2021, Spears is in discussions with Olympic standard trainers, who are urging her to take part in the games.

As of April 1st, 2020, Britney Spears can add the Guinness World Records for the 100-meter sprint to her list of accolades. Could an Olympic gold medal be next?
