Life in one’s early twenties isn’t always easy. In fact, it’s rather confusing, especially as you chase your dreams into a competitive or an unconventional field. Jenny March’s infectious new pop anthem “Talk to Me” captures the euphoria of embracing yourself, living out your dreams and ignoring the critics.

I’m gunna sink into the night real slow
Maybe pour another glass of wine
my house is smellin like a southern bar
But I don’t really care anymore
Hit Jack and jack, Daniels and Herrer
I’m better when I’m out my mind
My parents think I’m screwing up my life
But I don’t really care anymore

“This song was inspired by me ‘not caring anymore‘ about what people think,” Jenny March tells Atwood Magazine. “I don’t like to stress about a lot of things in my life that aren’t worth the trouble because life should be about having fun and staying up until 2 AM drinking wine with your friends.” The single’s powerful anthematic nature proves especially helpful in building up Jenny March’s carefree aura. It promotes the immediate need to dance and sing along with March and embrace her blitheness. She sings about revelling in parties with her friends, adding to the perfect thematic match between the song and her feelings.

Oh oh, I’m a believer
In a picture show
I make my future
So don’t talk to me baby,
Talk to me baby
Don’t talk to me baby
Talk to me
We got dat group chat roast
Gimme dat avocado toast
You know I pull up than I ghost
Sippin’ on mimosa

The buildup to the chorus elaborates March’s carefree motto, as she sings “I make my future so don’t talk to me baby, talk to me baby.” The beat drops in the chorus as March sings about her group chats, avocado toast and mimosas, giving the feeling and sound of the perfect lyrics to scream.

You got your lips done but ain’t got no job
These LA girls all look the same
I know I’m pretty with no make up on
I swear that I don’t care anymore

Jenny March also seems to use the song to elaborate on her dedication to pursuing her dreams, regardless of what other people think about it. She sings, “My parents think I’m screwing up my life, but I don’t really care anymore.”

Along with her freedom, March promotes a strong confidence that builds on the insurgent passion of “Talk to Me.” She sings, “I know I’m pretty with no make up on, I swear that I don’t care anymore.” Her radiating confidence only adds to the reality of her single and the power she has as a pop singer to connect and share with her fans.

March’s vocals and motto ring clear to the end of the song, leaving us needing to hear it again and commit to living the same, carefree life. “Talk to Me” marks the beginning of Jenny March’s bold, bright and passionate future in the world of pop music.
