Lights beam on the dancefloor, flaring a signal on the coast of the crowd, where a community searches for the same mutual feeling – freedom.
Tinlicker are amplifying the energy behind each kick to connect with their audience and spark a new beginning.
The “Dutch Brothers,” Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Aartsen, have ignited hearts across dancefloors worldwide, releasing on Anjunadeep and collaborating with Ben Böhmer on “Voodoo” from their 2022 EP Perfect Mistakes. Now joining the duo is London-based singer, songwriter, and producer Hero Baldwin, whose emotive, melodic style expands the group’s sonic palette and ushers in this new era – adding a fresh depth to the group’s unique electronic air.
Together, the trio released “I Started a Fire” in April, a track marked by lyrical resonance and Baldwin’s soothing yet stirring vocal presence that calms the spirit. Now, with “I Want My Freedom” – out October 10th via Remember The Future [PIAS] – Tinlicker deliver a dancefloor groove that celebrates autonomy and movement – freedom through an authentic lens – projecting a sense of weightless independence into their renewed collective identity.

I had a heart full of long
help me lose my way,
(My way, my way)
And there’s a whole world to walk
So why should I just stay?
Giving up that ghost,
Giving up my freedom
When the end goes,
I want that feeling
I want that feeling
I want my freedom…
I want my freedom…
I want my freedom…
Beneath the track’s bright pulse lies a deeper truth – one rooted in the lived experiences that shaped its lyrics. Hero Baldwin traces the song back to a moment of disconnection and clarity: “I started writing from that feeling of disconnection as a woman in my mid-twenties with a sharp awareness of the world moving backwards,” she tells Atwood Magazine. “But over time, the song grew into something bigger. It’s about all of us. The heartbreaking truth is the abuse of freedoms reaches far beyond gender. This is a song of inclusion, with a nod to what I personally feel I’ve lost. Freedom is never handed to us, it’s something we fight for, and I no longer have that softness in me to apologise for that.”
The track opens with piano keys that echo like freefall, before quick hi-hats and punchy synth stabs lock into a propulsive arpeggiated pulse. Baldwin’s vocals rise and recede with emotional clarity, inviting listeners to claim their own inner voice and tapping into an expressive threshold of self-determination. The single becomes a light-filled anthem of empowerment, encouraging listeners to move forward with renewed conviction as they embark on a new atmosphere with each sunrise.

“I Want My Freedom” says it all: Tinlicker deliver a bright, uplifting melody that embodies their independence as a trio.
They offer listeners a reminder that self-reliance is a reflective, deeply personal experience – one rooted in awareness, intention, and belonging. With this new lineup, the band signals only the beginning: A forthcoming LP and expansive EU/UK tour arriving in early 2026, as they ascend toward a new skyline of creative liberation, looking forward through a looking glass across their sea of change.
