Anna Ladd, in her short film “posted”, explores the nature of human relationships, both romantic and platonic, as told by evolution. Ladd says of the film:
I remember talking about evolution in my 8th grade science class, and my teacher telling us that he thought the strictly human connection between love and sex was a huge evolutionary flaw. It’s something that no other species has and it’s something that I still think about. This is a video about that.
Reading this description illuminates the skeleton of the work: humans are “flawed,” but is this necessarily a bad thing? Ladd challenges the meaning of “love” with the powerful scenario she sets up in the film. Learn more about the artist behind the video in the upcoming interview on the blog soon!p>
