HER SOUND, HER POWER

by XIE

Oblivion” – Grimes

Grimes was one of my biggest inspirations when I first started in electronic music. I remember watching her on stage singing and playing keyboard and then knowing she produced all her music – I was in awe and thought I need to be doing this! Her OG songs are my favorites there’s something so raw and special about them.

Galt” – LP Giobbi

LP is such an amazing artist and human. I’m so impressed with everything she’s doing in her own career as well as how she uplifts other budding female creatives in the industry. I also identify with her having a classically trained background and think it’s so cool melding that with electronic music.

Find The Way” – Peggy Gou

I love seeing Peggy flourish as a fellow Asian woman in dance music. Using her own vocals brings a synergy to all her music and I think the way she blends her fashion sense into her brand is super dope.

I Don’t Remember” – Walker & Royce, VNSSA

VNSSA is an amazing DJ and producer (and such a real one too irl!) This song is one of my favorites from 2024.

Forget About Me” – Aluna, Diplo, Durant

I love so many of Aluna’s songs and find her voice dope and unique. She’s a great songwriter and it’s not often that I love everything an Artist puts out, but I really admire her work.
