Bec Lauder and The Noise erupt with feverish fire and fierce abandon on “Nobody Cares,” a glam punk anthem of chaos and catharsis that doubles as a stylish, snarling middle finger to conformity and control. In our exclusive premiere and interview, the band’s frontwoman dives into the song’s unapologetic spirit, the making of its unhinged music video, and the rebellious energy fueling their forthcoming debut album!
“Nobody Cares” – Bec Lauder and The Noise
There’s a certain thrill in not giving a damn – in setting the rulebook on fire, flipping the desk, and letting the chaos spill forth in droves.
“Nobody Cares” is the soundtrack to that liberation: Frenzied, feverish, and feral, Bec Lauder and the Noise’s first song of the year is a dramatic, unapologetic middle finger raised high and mighty while the mascara’s running. It’s electric and exhilarating – an emotionally charged glam-punk anthem for anyone who’s ever wanted to scream into the void, break free from life’s doldrums, and dance through the ashes in their favorite boots.

Work shifts, highly wasted
Phone calls, lately faced with
Visions, we’ve all got em
Listen, you’re the problem
Work shifts
Give me a break,
I’m not fighting you
Your phone calls
Leave me a message,
I’m a busy girl
Your visions
I’ve got a few to spare
Just listen
I know who you are
and I don’t care
Atwood Magazine is proud to be premiering the music video for “Nobody Cares,” the second single off Bec Lauder and The Noise’s upcoming debut album The Vessel (out August 22nd via Killphonic). Directed and edited by Lauder herself, the video is part satire, part sensory overload – a dizzying descent into corporate absurdity that mirrors the song’s chaotic catharsis. With its frenetic visuals and seething swagger, it elevates the band’s “glam-punk” ethos to a delirious high.

“‘Nobody Cares’ perfectly captures the chaos of indifference with a smirk on its face,” Lauder tells Atwood Magazine.
“It’s a chocolate-covered middle finger, attention-stealing, blast-at-full-volume summer banger. It’s the definition of glam punk with a touch of dream pop textures, lo-fi grit and honesty. Cry later, strut now.”
I know who you are and I don’t care
I know who you are and I don’t care
I don’t… really care!
Nobody cares
Nobody cares
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Nobody cares!
Born in New York’s East Village and baptized by fire in over 100 live gigs since March 2023, Bec Lauder and The Noise are no strangers to the stage – or the visceral release it offers. Comprised of Lauder on vocals, guitar, and bass; Soph Shreds on guitar and bass; and Maggie Bishop on drums and vocal harmonies, the band marries classic rock urgency with downtown art-punk flare. “The Noise” isn’t just a clever moniker – it’s a mission statement.
And at some point, that mission statement simply became a reality for the trio. “‘Bec Lauder’ is who I become when I’m playing music – The Noise makes it happen,” Lauder (née Rebecca Corosanite) explains. “It’s always been very important to me to have a band of musicians who I trust, friends to share it all with. Music is about community, so I’ve surrounded myself with my favorite musicians.”
Lauder first introduced her solo artistry with 2023’s five-track debut EP Before Everything Changes, a breathtaking, hair-raising record in its own right, but her upcoming LP The Vessel is where things truly erupt. Eleven tracks of grit, glam, and unfiltered honesty, The Vessel is an ode to chaos and clarity, to the raw process of becoming. “When I hit the stage, it’s full-body improv – no shame, no filter, just pure instinct,” she says. “I’m a vessel, and the only way this works is if I let the music take over.”

Jumpy, feverish, and full of feral flair, “Nobody Cares” is a smirking, seductive explosion – and the perfect introduction to Bec Lauder and the Noise in 2025.
Wild-eyed, sharp-tongued, the song is an emotionally charged exorcism of apathy and angst. It’s the kind of track that kicks down the door with its tight beat and glistening guitar tones alone – but it’s Lauder’s voice that inevitably takes center stage. She sings hot on the mic, spilling her soul while painting a provocative state of urgency and indifference. “Work shifts, highly wasted phone calls, lately faced with visions, we’ve all got ‘em, listen, you’re the problem,” she declares at the start, blitzing out of the gate with a seductive and smoldering strut. It’s a quarter-life crisis on tape – a frenzied, full-bodied scream into the abyss – and it’s glorious.
Perfect
That’s what they want
Stained walls
Make my castle
Stitched in
What if I just glisten
And it’s not your problem
Perfect
What if I told you I’m a messy girl
Your stained walls
Always remind me that it’s so
Stitched in
Come on now listen
I know who you are and I don’t care

“‘Nobody Cares’ is definitely the ‘pouty baby’ of the bunch,” Lauder adds with a smirk. “It’s my relief song – a song you sing as loud as you can until you forget you’re even upset. It’s meant to be empowering, to encourage people to trust themselves and maybe give a little less of a f*** about things that aren’t serving them… I’m not only screaming ‘Nobody cares!’ but ‘Screw you, I’m trusting my gut on this one!’ and ‘Don’t tell me what to do!’ – all the things we want to say, but sometimes can’t.”
The music video’s office-set descent into mayhem drives this point home with coquettish charm and unflinching churn. One part performance, one part breakdown, the cinematic visual sees the band flanked by a trio of “dancing secretaries” (portrayed by Sophie Olszak, Tory Koljornsen, and Rosanna Karabetsos) gradually descending into chaos, liberation, and complete destruction.
The tension – aesthetic and emotional – builds until it bursts, mirroring the song’s own spiral into euphoric fury. It’s anti-capitalist, anti-perfectionist, anti-bullshit – and in its refusal to be buttoned-up or boiled down, it’s deeply human.
I know who you are and I don’t care
I know who you are and I don’t care
I don’t… really care!
Nobody cares
Nobody cares
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Nobody cares!

“Nobody Cares” is a release – bold, unfiltered, and cathartic – built to shake off the weight of other people’s expectations and trust your gut, no matter where you or or who you’re with.
Written in the thick of Lauder’s own emotional upheaval, it’s a song that only comes when you’ve had enough – when the only way forward is to let it all out, raw and unfiltered, and let the noise become your clarity. The result is intoxicating – loud, loose, and impossible to ignore. The Vessel may not drop until August, but with “Nobody Cares” and May’s lead single “Give It,” Bec Lauder and The Noise have already planted their flag. This isn’t just a debut – it’s a declaration. And if nobody cares? Well, that’s just more room to scream louder.
Watch the music video for “Nobody Cares” exclusively on Atwood Magazine, and get to know Bec Lauder and the Noise in our candid interview below.
“I hope people walk away from listening to “Nobody Cares” feeling liberating and inspired and sassy and silly,” Lauder grins. “It’s a whole lot of feelings jam-packed into a song that will hopefully just make you feel a little lighter after a listen.”
There’s no denying Lauder and co. have achieved something great in their new music. Stay tuned for The Vessel – a gritty, glittery gut-punch of a debut, out August 22nd via Killphonic!

“Nobody Cares” – Bec Lauder and The Noise

A CONVERSATION WITH BEC LAUDER

Atwood Magazine: Hey Bec, thanks for your time today! For those who are just discovering you today through this writeup, what do you want them to know about you and your music?
Bec Lauder: Thank you! For anyone who hasn’t yet discovered me, I’m Bec Lauder, frontwoman of The Noise. Music is my favorite thing in the world and I’m just here to share all the sounds I’ve been dreaming about my entire life.
Where does “Bec Lauder” end and “Bec Lauder and the Noise” begin?
Bec Lauder: “Bec Lauder” is who I become when I’m playing music, The Noise makes it happen. It’s always been very important to me to have a band of musicians who I trust, friends to share it all with. Music is about community, so I’ve surrounded myself with my favorite musicians.
I got the name, “Bec Lauder,” from my first band which I called, the “Lauder Band,” which was a silly play on words with the hope that people would scream, “louder!!” at my shows. People started to call me Bec Lauder and it immediately stuck. My drummer, Maggie Bishop, jokingly came up with the name, “The Noise,” after a band practice and we became, “Bec Lauder and The Noise.”
What is New York City’s music scene like today, and how has it shaped you and your band?
Bec Lauder: The New York City music scene is alive and thriving. I really moved to New York at the perfect time, October 2022, everyone was itching to get out and play music, everyone had been underground practicing as well. I played my first show ever in March of 2023 – I’ve played over 100 since. Once I started creating and playing here, I couldn’t stop. It’s so cool to be surrounded by the most talented people AND best performers I’ve ever seen in my life, AND I get to create with them?! It’s really a dream and I’m very grateful for the experiences I’ve had here.

You began teasing out your debut album earlier this year with “Give It.” Why reintroduce yourselves, and set the scene for the LP, with this song?
Bec Lauder: My first EP is quite different from the music I started creating for this album. I felt like “Give It” was the perfect transitional track for my listeners, a rock song decorated with pop-y hooks and melodies as well as a funky and driving rhythm section-it teases the experimentation in the album in a playful way while some of the songs on the rest of the album are more straight up rock n’ roll.
What’s the story behind your song “Nobody Cares”?
Bec Lauder: I think most people have experienced fighting for something they believe in and feeling pushback from either superiors, romantic partners, friends, or family. I wrote this song to help me through a difficult period in my life and for any other challenging situations I or you may encounter. To me, I’m not only screaming “Nobody cares!” but “Screw you, I’m trusting my gut on this one” and “Bug off!” and “Don’t tell me what to do!”- all of the things we want to say, but sometimes can’t.
You’ve said this song “perfectly captures the chaos of indifference with a smirk on its face” - that it’s quintessential glam punk with a touch of dream pop. What is it about, for you?
Bec Lauder: “Nobody Cares” is my anecdote, my relief song, a song you sing as loud as you can until you forget you’re even upset. It’s meant to be empowering, to encourage people to trust themselves and maybe give a little less of a f*** about things that aren’t serving them.

How does this track fit into the overall narrative of your debut album, The Vessel?
Bec Lauder: “Nobody Cares” is definitely the “pouty baby” of the bunch. Narratively, The Vessel is mostly commentary on life in New York City. Screaming “Nobody Cares!” is definitely a part of that, but you’ll also find songs with a lot more depth, storytelling and discovery. “Nobody Cares” is definitely one of the most pop forward tracks on the record.
And why did you name your debut album The Vessel? What can fans and new listeners alike look forward to hearing on it?
Bec Lauder: “The Vessel” as a title really speaks to the nature through which we write music or how it falls out of us. The band writes most of the music in my Brooklyn basement, a super raw setup – we really play down there, and the songs are born in their most stripped-back forms. Then we get to go to the studio, rock the hell out, and decorate the songs like cake with all sorts of fun ear candy and beautiful sounds. That process is how our sound has been born and the through-line of our upcoming album, The Vessel.

What do you hope listeners take away from “Nobody Cares,” and what have you taken away from creating it and now putting it out?
Bec Lauder: I hope people walk away from listening to “Nobody Cares” feeling liberating and inspired and sassy and silly. It’s a whole lot of feelings jam-packed into a song that will hopefully just make you feel a little lighter after a listen. I’m really proud to have it out and still listen to it when I’m feeling a lil’ spicy or need a confidence boost.
