Born in South Louisiana, I grew up in a ‘gumbo pot’ of musical influences, from classic soul, to smooth jazz, to folk and rock and roll. Throughout the ups and downs of my life, music has been a salve; it has been a forever friend. I got into music journalism in 2020 during lockdown and decided to start my own music blog. At the time, it was an attempt to stay connected to others, as that year was an incredibly lonely year for so many people. Though it started off as something to do for fun, I found that writing about music I loved and getting to know the stories behind brought me true joy. I’ve always enjoyed getting to know fellow artists on a deeper level, and love having conversations with people that stick with me for a long time. Music journalism is an avenue to do just that.
