I’ve learned that love comes with an ache that’s well-worth having…

* * *

Always the baby, never the woman,” Andrea Bejar admits to listeners on her dreamy new single, “Delicately.”

And it’s simply the first of many character confessions: Adding on a tendency to bury her sadness, ask questions lovers would rather not answer, and, most importantly, her inherent gentle nature that she can’t hide anymore.

Always the baby
Never the woman
I’ve got a tendency to break
I should watch where I’m going
Careful crying
Keep my tears in the cabinet
I’ve been told it’s lady-like
To lock up all of your sadness
But I don’t know
I kinda like
The softness of living
With my heart on the line

Released March 27, 2026, “Delicately” is a shift in Bejar’s discography, a much more production-focused, upbeat track still filled with her impactful, honest writing. Her latest EP Love Again, released August 2024, showcases what Bejar was at the time: slow guitar strums, whisper-like voice, and a general softness.

But despite its name, “Delicately” does not fall into familiar patterns; instead, it acts as Bejar’s profession of her fragile personality through a catchy, steady drumbeat and strong acoustic hits.

So what if I need
Someone who will handle me delicately
Find beauty in feeling everything
Brave enough to come undone
So what if there’s more to love?
You can take me as I come

The consistency of each beat not only emphasizes Bejar’s words, but almost marks her story as a coming-of-age narrative about a woman realizing she can’t hide who she is.

There’s no way of keeping it in / And now I know / I kind of like / The softness of living / With my heart on the line,” Bejar sings, the turning point in the track from her hiding her “delicateness” and accepting her tender heart.

The slight tempo uptick in the chorus does nothing but shine the octaves she can reach, with her voice carrying up into the clouds as she solidifies her search for finding someone that can love her delicately.

Growing up in a bilingual household, many of Bejar’s songs feature both Spanish and English, yet “Delicately” remains rooted in the English language, but still carries the waves of a classic Spanish ballad with its hip-swaying melody.

Breaking silence
With questions I’m afraid of asking
I’ve learned that love
comes with an ache
that’s well-worth having
Was never a writer
Thought no one would listen
‘Til someone told me the stories stack right up
′Til there’s no way of keeping em hidden

In a time when women toughen up early on to face the harsh world that awaits them, Bejar’s song is a breath of fresh air, both musically and lyrically.

It’s a beat that feels like spring, with light jumps and steady pace, partnered with a truth many women believe yet never dare utter.

She begs for someone to appreciate her emotional heart, and takes the listener on her journey toward accepting that, teaching her audience that there’s no shame in being soft.
