Atwood Magazine is proud to be premiering the Emiliano Bechi Gabrielli -directed music video for “Into the Night,” the latest single taken off Gizmo Varillas’ forthcoming fourth studio album The World in Colour (out March 21st, 2025 via Sonteca Records).
His highly anticipated new record follows 2020’s Out of the Darkness, which Atwood Magazine hailed as “a buoyant record of perseverance and inner strength.”
The World in Colour also arrives in the wake of a whirlwind 2024 for Varillas, during which he released eight songs (all of which will feature on the upcoming album), played to sold-out venues (including bars, clubs, theaters, and ancient amphitheaters) all throughout Europe, and sold more than 10,000 concert tickets. An upcoming 2025 UK and European tour commences at the end of April, and will find him performing in seventeen cities across the continent before May’s end.
A longtime favorite of Atwood Magazine‘s pages (and a former Atwood Editor’s Pick), Gizmo Varillas is a beacon of light, love, and warm, wondrous sound – and “Into the Night” is no exception. The dreamy track, with its vibrant, funky groove and sun-kissed guitar lines, sees the Spanish-born, Brighton-based singer/songwriter embracing his world – and his life – in full. “I’ll venture the unknown to feel it in my bones into the night,” he sings, ready not just for adventure, but for experience: To intake the fullness of being alive, and all that our existence has to offer.
“This song is about fully embracing life by pouring every part of myself – my heart, soul, and essence – into everything I do and experience,” Varillas tells Atwood Magazine. “It represents a journey of self-discovery, navigating through the unknown. Having been on this journey for over a decade, I find myself grateful for having pursued what I love, savouring each day even more.”
He hits a spiritual high in the song’s enchanting chorus – a cathartic moment of feel-good reverie that encapsulates this message of open-minded surrender, acceptance, and celebration:

The “Into the Night” music video, filmed by Emiliano Bechi Gabrielli, amplifies these revelrous sentiments through connections to nature, featuring Varillas singing in the snowy mountains, the green forests, the red deserts, and the deep-blue coasts of picturesque Tenerife, Spain.
“We began our journey early in the morning, making our way up the volcano Mount Teide,” Varillas shares. “At its base, we were surrounded by thousands of tall, green pine trees. As we ascended, the lush forest gradually gave way to charred wood, ancient lava flows, and dry, barren soil. The higher we went, the more the landscape transformed into an arid, otherworldly terrain. It felt as though with each passing moment and the setting sun, we were venturing deeper into the night, where life seemed to fade away.”
“At an altitude of 2,200 meters, the cold night embraced us. Under a vast, star-filled sky, we paused, mesmerized by the beauty of the cosmos. In that stillness, I found myself reflecting on my life – on my father’s passing, my lifelong passion for music, and the friends and family who have walked this journey with me.”
