Royal Blood kick off their 2022 UK Tour at the brand new Swansea Arena; here’s all you need to know ahead of the UK leg.
Stream: ‘Typhoons’ – Royal Blood
Last week, rock duo Royal Blood kicked off their UK tour with the rescheduled Welsh date – and, with another eight dates to go, the pair are only just getting started.
After forming in 2011, together Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher have released three full-length projects: with their self-titled debut dropping in 2014. However, it’s 2021’s ‘Typhoons’ that brings the band to some of the UK’s most sought-after venues.
Released last April, Typhoons scored the London-based band a hat-trick: their third consecutive number 1 album. Featuring hit tracks “Trouble’s Coming” and “Oblivion,” the album is described by tastemakers as “technicolour,” “swaggering,” and “a thrilling, festival-slaying brew.” It’s no wonder fans have swarmed to sell out the band’s next date in Bournemouth, where Atwood Magazine will also watch Royal Blood in full force.
If you’re lucky enough to catch the duo in the flesh this year, not only can you expect fiery performances of ‘Boilermaker’, ‘Limbo’, ‘Little Monster’ and newly released single ‘Honeybrains’, but you’ll also be treated to a performance from The Amazons.
For those often tempted to skip the support act, resist the urge this time. The Amazons, whose top tracks include ‘Black Magic’ and ‘Junk Food Forever’, are sure to be a welcome discovery for any fans of Royal Blood.
The remaining tour dates include:
25/03 – Bournemouth International Centre
26/03 – Utilia Arena Birmingham
27/03 – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
29/03 – Nottingham Motorpoint Arena
30/03 – The O2 London
01/04 – First Direct Arena Leeds
02/04 – AO Arena Manchester
03/04 – OVO Hydro Glasgow
Royal Blood will also head out on a tour of the US and Canada during April, May and June.
