Thursday, July 31st

Music festivals open the door for a multitude of artist discoveries, aside from long-time favorites. While many are awaiting the performances of Tyler the Creator or Luke Combs, let’s get into who you should check out in the meantime. Thursday’s lineup is packed with hidden gems, including bLAck pARty, Jade LeMac, and Royel Otis (a fan favorite).

bLAck pARty brings a refreshing sound to the R&B scene, with influences of tropical funk and hip-hop. As he continues to set himself apart, the musician has worked alongside notable artists such as Childish Gambino and Latto. With the release of his latest album The Last Dance, bLAck pARty is sure to deliver an inventive and enthusiastic set for his audience. The artist’s performance at Lollapalooza will be the live debut of the LP.

Known for her popular hit, “Constellations,” Jade LeMac captivates listeners with her vulnerable edge. LeMac’s music comes straight from the heart, capturing yearning and the innermost feelings of the heart. Aside from her relatable tunes, the artist provides a personal experience for this year’s festival goers. The musician will be playing not just one, but two sets at Lollapalooza. Her first set will be at Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage, while her second performance will be up close and intimate at Toyota Music Den.

Completing the day is Royel Otis, with their whimsical yet cinematic voice – one that’s destined to be in a movie soundtrack. If you’re looking for good vibes and quality indie music, their set is mandatory.

Friday, August 1st

Friday is for the indie music fanatics, with a number of lovely choices to decide upon. Ranging from well-established artists in the industry such as Djo and Wallows, to underrated picks like Ocean Alley.

Djo, also known as Joe Keery, is back once again to perform at Lollapalooza. As Keery continues to tour his third studio album, The Crux, he makes a stop in a city that’s special to him. Listening to him declare “When I’m back in Chicago, I feel it” will be even more empowering live, in the city where it all happened. Chicago is a city close to Keery’s heart, which will translate into his performance on Friday, August 1st.

Wallows brings More to the table, as they showcase their latest EP. The trio always brings an unmatched, enthusiastic energy to the stage that you won’t want to miss.

Ocean Alley is bringing confidence to the stage – in more ways than one. Their catalog has surpassed 1 billion streams, including listens from their top single, “Confidence.” As the group prepares for their debut appearance at Lollapalooza, they continue to complete the ideal summer soundtrack with their psychedelic rock and reggae sound.

Saturday, August 2nd

Whether you like R&B, jazz, or indie music: Saturday’s lineup has a great variety of artists to check out including Clairo, Orion Sun, Mk.gee, and Wasia Project.

The indie-pop staple herself, Clairo, is set to amaze the Bud Light stage with her soft undertones and luscious voice. With tunes like “Bags,” “Pretty Girl,” and “Juna,” this set is bound to become the ultimate singalong.

Orion Sun and Mk.gee blend indie influences alongside R&B, cultivating an unique, one-of-a-kind sound that is definitely worth your attention.

Lastly, Wasia Project creatively combines jazz and indie pop, experimenting with their classical music training. Similar to Laufey, the sibling duo (Will Gao from Heartstopper, and Olivia Hardy) draw from their emotions and experiences with love to fuel their heartfelt lyrics.

Sunday, August 3rd

Lollapalooza finishes the festival with high-energy acts, ending the event on a high-note. Artists like Dominic Fike, Still Woozy, and Flowerovlove will have you dancing on cloud nine by the end of the night.

Sunburns may be inevitable, and so is Dominic Fike’s set. Getting burnt isn’t embarrassing, if anything, it’s part of the dresscode for Fike’s performance. After all, he’ll be playing jams from his album Sunburn, along with various tunes from his other albums. Fike’s versatile discography is ideal for all kinds of festival goers, and perfect for summer!

Outgoing is one way to depict Still Woozy, but his energy is truly unmatched and indescribable. His infectious melodies easily translate on the stage, a perfect pairing with his lively spirit.

BREAKING NEWS: At just 19-years-old, Flowerovlove is absolutely dominating the music industry. Her electrifying pop sound has landed her supporting roles on stage with Olivia Rodrigo and Halsey. For a show full of energy, flair, and charm, be sure to catch her set at the Bud Light stage.

Whether you’re attending the festival, or simply are curious about this year’s lineup: These artists are ones you don’t want to forget. Be sure to keep them on your radar, and check out our post-festival coverage which will include our favorite highlights from the weekend!
