The Swamp Princess ruled over Queens.
Doechii catapulted into mainstream music with hits like “Anxiety,” “Denial is a River,” and “Alter Ego.” She won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album with Alligator Bites Never Heal, earning a Best New Artist nomination that same year.
In 2025, Doechii also became one of the headlining artists at All Things Go, a female-forward music festival with artists like Clairo, Lucy Dacus, Djo, and The Marías in its lineup.
On Friday, there were whispers among attendees of whether or not Doechii would perform, undoubtedly fueled by Chappell Roan’s sudden drop out the year prior. The rapper canceled her appearance at All Points East festival in East London and two other music festivals about a month ago.

It was drizzling by the time Doechii took to the Forest Hills Stadium stage on Saturday night – but that didn’t stop anyone.
“Are the lesbians in the building?” Doechii asked, receiving a resounding ‘yes’ from the audience. “This whole week I was telling my team, ‘I’m so excited for the lesbian festival, I’m so excited.’”
“I know you guys don’t call it that, but I mean…” she said, making a face.
Complete with a swamp-y themed background and DJ, Doechii highlighted old and new hits in her setlist. She freestyled to “America Has a Problem” by Beyoncé and even mixed her originals with hits like “One More Time” by Daft Punk and “Can I Live” by Jay-Z.

The artist also paused to share love for Lola Young, an artist who collapsed on stage just hours prior to Doechii’s set.
“She’s an incredibly talented artist,” Doechii said, “and she wasn’t feeling well tonight, and I’m so glad you guys were there to support her and hold her up. Let’s wish her the best.”
There were also moments of positive affirmations specifically for fans: She had everyone repeat back the age old saying, “I love money, money loves me. That’s on God, and that’s the tea.”
‘Platinum record’ this, ‘Viral record’ that
I’m makin’ so much money, I’m all over the net
I’m movin’ so fast, no time to process
– “Denial Is a River,” Doechii

Through it all, Doechii absolutely commanded the stage.
She was beyond energetic and truly seemed to be having as much fun as the festival crowd. And of course, between the twerking and the smoking and tiny fashionista glasses… she’s just so cool.
I want to be Doechii when I grow up. This performance cemented it.
