When I first listened to Sunbeam Sound Machine’s song, “Cosmic Love Affair,” I felt as if I had fallen inside a kaleidoscope and was having an epiphany filled with wild colors, breathing objects, and ambient sounds. This dream we call life is what we make of it, and in this dream it is not worth worrying or being angry over insignificant details that won’t matter once we wake up. This dream is about enjoying the now, which includes getting lost in the cosmos with Sunbeam Sound Machine.
Sunbeam Sound Machine was established in Melbourne, Australia. Nick Sowersby, the face behind the poppy, psychedelic band, recently signed with Dot Dash/Remote Control Records. Sunbeam Sound Machine’s self-titled EP is out now, along with the band’s first EP, One, which includes the song, “Shake (Sleepwalking)“. Both albums are available on iTunes. What I enjoy about “Cosmic Love Affair” is not only how it brings a transcending experience to its listeners, but that it also brings alive the aesthetic, creative energy within the listeners. I am stoked to see where the band will drift me off to next, for Sunbeam Sound Machine stirs a dreamy, abstract sensation in a hypno-groove melodic world. I hope I never wake up.
