A soothing and radiant song of love and longing, TALIA brings a natural grace as she recalls and emits warmth and kind familiarities on dream-laced memories of “hyde park.” An Atlanta local and child of Carribean parents, the emerging bedroom pop creative builds worlds with effortless otherworldly luminescence, thoughtfulness, and authenticity, like a breath of fresh air.

the sun came out in london town
when you walked by queensgate & hyde
and i know you caught me staring at your smile
and i could kiss you a thousand times
and talk for hours on long train rides
and you hold all of the world in your eyes

Atwood Magazine is proud to be premiering TALIA’s new single and video “hyde park,” a smooth reminiscence of warmth and beauty (out on November 10th). This is TALIA’s second single via Quadio Records.

“hyde park” contrasts predecessor “colder,” a pretty and piercing lo-fi tune diffusing pain of an irredeemable love and blurred lines between affection of affliction. Both singles present layers of opposite emotions in love, prefacing the depth and journey of her upcoming debut EP, headrush.

“I sat down with my guitar one day and wrote this song pretty quickly,” TALIA tells Atwood Magazine. “It flowed easily. I was daydreaming about visiting London again. I miss it. It’s such a moody, yet dreamy city (a lot like my personality, HAHA). I fell in love there. I felt so empowered artistically. That morning, I just felt compelled to write about this enormous amount of love I found while living there for a short time.”

I wrote the words to feel like a daydream, a longing for someone. All the ways that love can bring color and inspiration to your inner life.

you’re all i dream about
you’re all i think about
it’s you
now i’m miles and miles away
the time flies and people change
but i love you more and more everyday

The three minutes of “hyde park” invite a different embrace of coziness with every listen. The song does not exist in or for a certain time or instance; rather, TALIA captures the most universal intimacy, that of wholly immersing comfort. The song parallels the soft waves of euphoria of one’s fondest, coziest memories, emotions and dreams. “hyde park” channels the rush of holding a gaze into a longtime lover’s eyes, feeling remnants of sunlight walking under trees with a new crush, longing for a love and adventure yet unknown; weaving reflection, serenity and daydreaming. “hyde park” guides you through untouchable solace and innocence in a room of mirrors, each listen reflecting light out of distinct infinite angles.

“I remember recording a rough demo with my guitar, then adding sprinkles of piano and violin,” TALIA says of the song. “I immediately sent it to my younger brother who co-produced it with me. He helped fill in all the gaps. We wanted to keep it simple and let the focus be on the words. I wrote the words to feel like a daydream, a longing for someone. All the ways that love can bring color and inspiration to your inner life.”

“The violin swells are the butterflies in my stomach. The guitar percussion is the heart beat. Love can be so colorful and delicate. This is just a glimpse into the world of love for me. It’s such a magical experience to discover parts of yourself in a new place simultaneously with someone else.”

For me, ‘hyde park’ is a glimpse into the delicate and colorful world of love. It’s such a magical experience to discover parts of yourself in a new place simultaneously with someone else.

What begins with a soft acoustic performance carries its softness, as it blossoms into a flowery field with a sway of violins swelling under TALIA’s mesmeric delicacy; an equally simple and cinematic, joyful and reminiscent love song for the ages.
