With 2025 coming to a close, it’s time to take part in the annual end-of-year routine of looking back on the highlights and personal milestones of the past twelve months.
Alex Breitling, for one, has plenty of positive material to report on, as the German EDM producer was remarkably productive both in the studio and on the road throughout the year. He brought his live electronica act to a number of venues, perhaps most memorably in August at the Křižík Fountain in Prague, where he got to share the stage with one of his musical idols, Ben Böhmer. He also put out two new EPs, Forever and Colorize, and a plethora of standalone tracks.
One of those which he is particularly keen on highlighting is “Eternity,” released this past November. Like the ocean pictured on its cover, the track is peaceful and melodic, but also ever-moving and teeming with life, a product of its atmospheric and synth-heavy production.
“If you like melodic music with really nice breaks and nice drops, then you have to listen to this track,” Breitling informs his fans. “It brings you a really nice feeling and makes you think about the big things in your life.”

If asked to name some of the big things in his own life, Breitling would likely point to his upbringing in Klobenz, Germany, where he first got involved with music through DJ’ing at birthday parties and publishing some of his earliest tracks on SoundCloud. He has since disavowed the music he made as a youngster in that era, but nonetheless values it for helping him to get his career launched, as well as for being “melodic and for the heart.”
Breitling continued to hone his EDM craft over the years, releasing several original tracks and remixes on a variety of labels, and performing live at several sites in Germany and other parts of Europe. For him, the thrill of mounting onstage and delivering a passionate DJ set to a wild audience has always kept him coming back for more.
“The crowd loves the melodic music, and you see it directly when you go on stage and they are giving you applause,” he says. “You feel like you are perfectly at the right moment here.”

Amidst the flurry of new singles Breitling’s put out in 2025 – “Endless Skies,” “We Are Young,” and “Lichtblick” among them – “Eternity” emerges as one of his most memorable.
The track marks an extension of his partnership with Purified Records, through which he’s released several EPs and singles, including last year’s “Skyfall.” And “Eternity” further embodies Breitling’s conviction that EDM, on top of being lively party fare, also can provide a platform for some genuinely melodious music.
“I started with the melody in my head, and I think it took one hour to make this melody because I always change something,” Breitling describes how “Eternity” was formulated. “And then, I started to make the break, and you feel like you are in a jungle or something. After that, I wanted to make it for the dancefloor, so I love to make rolling bases. And yeah, then it comes together, but it was really fun for me to make this track because I love the vibe in it.”
Guiding him through this elaborate creative process was Breitling’s love of nature and determination to embody it in his own music. In this case – as indicated by the single’s cover photograph, taken by Kelsey Williamson – he’s especially keen on evoking coral reefs, an ecosystem both majestic and fragile, and thus ripe with metaphorical inspiration for him as a producer.
“Nature reminds me a little bit of the balance and sound in music – like the peace and the atmosphere,” he explains. “Even silence is inspired by natural patterns. I love nature – I always have some ambient background sounds, like the ocean or more animals, in my tracks. And that gives a nice feeling to dream or to think about.”

Ever the prolific producer – “I’m working every day on new music, and I have ideas coming for four or five more tracks,” he says – Breitling will be sure to keep delivering high-quality jams in the new year. But for now, he simply hopes that his fan base – or his “family,” as he describes it – will come to appreciate “Eternity” and the rest of his most recent output.
“I got some nice messages from people, and they loved it,” he says. “I hope the track will be good for the perfect family, since the perfect family is always kind and lovely. I hope they will love it.
