Everybody has a dream – something that keeps you up at night and drives you onward during the day. Our dreams come in many forms; they are our inspirations and muses, passions and desires –and no matter what your particular dream is, there are millions of people just like you working hard to be one day closer their dreams becoming reality. Atwood Magazine is proud to be premiering the music video for “This Dream,” Neev’s recently-released third single and his first offering of 2020. Hailing from Portugal, Neev garnered initial acclaim in 2016 as the featured vocalist on Seeb’s debut single “Breathe”; three years later, he made his own solo debut with May 2019’s “Calling Out,” a lush and layered song highlighting his exquisite, resonant vocal talent. His sophomore single “Lie You Love It” followed in October, offering more breathing room with striking horns and other glittering accompaniment all serving to elevate an emotive scene.
“This Dream” arrives six months later, and features Neev in his most raw, naked, and pure form yet. Weaving effortless falsetto top lines and aching tenor melodies alongside an unassuming acoustic guitar, the Portuguese newcomer leaves listeners with our jaws dropped and hearts on fire. His soaring vocals and heart-on-sleeve lyrics make for an spellbinding, heart-on-sleeve performance we won’t soon forget.
“’This Dream’ is the song that shaped me and gave me the inspiration for what kind of music I wanted to put out there as an artist,” Neev tells Atwood Magazine. “It is intimate, personal, raw, and honest. It was written over three years while I was in a relationship – I finished the song when the relationship ended.”
Neev croons sweetly in his lilting, heavy-hearted chorus:

If “Calling Out” and “Lie You Love It” served as Neev’s hook – the bright, shiny objects luring us in – then “This Dream” can be interpreted as Neev’s mission statement: The timeless showstopper that hits home and makes him a steady part of our regular musical diet. Catchy, soulful, and arrestingly honest, it brings us up-close and person with the artist in a way we don’t often feel – especially with major-label signed acts.
“For me it’s a sense of mission and purpose that drives me to do this, and I am sure it will be a major part of my life and something that I want to really have an impact in my legacy as an artist – as a person,” Neev explains. “I believe in the ideas, I believe I can help by making them happen, and therefore I must do them.”
