Every other week, Anthony Kozlowski pens the Atwood Magazine column Tunes & Tumblers, pairing new and classic albums with cocktail recipes. He quickly found however that drinking alone is a sad business. So he invited his friends into a recording booth to aid in mixing delicious drinks and to discuss the music that they all love. Strap on your headphones and enjoy a cold one on us.
Join Tunes & Tumblers this week as the regulars sit down with Loviet to discuss her newest single “January” and sip on iHop’s first (unofficial) cocktail!

This week at the bar, the regulars are joined by Toronto based indie icon (and Atwood artist-to-watch) Loviet to chat about her single “January,” her upcoming EP The Nighttime Is All In The Timing, and her INSANE trucker hat collection.
All the while, we sip on a cocktail that requires a trip to iHop, and is a kind of metaphor for trying to push down messy chaos. Join us as we discuss Eric’s current music slump, the pressures that come with creativity, and, “Am I okay?”
Wanna drink with us? Then you’ve gotta do it responsibly. Here’s Kaitlyn’s recipe for a “Messy Layers”!
- 1 oz Bloom Rose and Jasmine Gin
- 1 oz Blueberry simple syrup
- 2 oz Ginger beer
- Fresh blueberries
- Dried rose petals
- Pour simple syrup and rose petals in bottom of glass
- Fill glass with crushed ice
- Pour ginger beer over back of spoon into glass
- Float gin on top
- Top with skewer of fresh blueberries
