The fourteen-year-old Texan native weaves listeners through a tale of starry-eyed connection and commitment in “I Left a Party for You,” a dazzling bedroom pop song beaming with catchy melodies and intimate emotion.

Released November 10, 2020 via Platoon, “I Left a Party for You” is Pilar Victoria’s third song of 2020 (following the summer demo “Seaside Romantics” and August’s well-received “Space Song”), and her sixth overall release since debuting last summer. A teenager of Argentine-American descent, Victoria imbues in her songs a sincerity and earnestness that flows effortlessly from artist to audience. As adept in an electronic setting as she is in an acoustic one, Victoria is fast emerging as an artist worthy of any indie or pop music lover’s radar.
When it comes to her latest effort, Victoria says, “‘I Left A Party For You’ is pretty self explanatory: It’s a song I wrote about someone who left a party to hangout with me. I wanted to highlight the excitement of that experience and capture that feeling in an upbeat track.”
It’s such a simple concept, and yet through her music and lyrics, Victoria injects a world of emotion into this song. Her chorus is a particularly mesmerizing moment of catharsis, where dreamy vocals melt over a sort of psychedelic submersion of dulcet guitars and layered harmonies.
