Echos steps into a bold new era of alternative rock sound on “QUIET, IN YOUR SERVICE,” a hauntingly cathartic and confessional fever dream of healing and empowerment – and the heavy, hard-hitting thesis statement for her recently released fourth studio album.
“QUIET, IN YOUR SERVICE” – ECHOS

The past few years have been transformative for Echos’ Alexandra Norton.

The EDM artist has been shedding both the ‘electronic’ and the ‘dance’ elements from her music for quite some time (see the back-half of 2022’s AFFIRMATIONS), but it’s on her recently released fourth studio album that she’s emerged, like a phoenix from the ashes, with a bold new look, sound, and attitude. The sonically dark, dramatic, and dynamic QUIET, IN YOUR SERVICE reintroduces Echos as an achingly unfiltered alternative artist a la PVRIS, Yonaka, and Allie X.

It’s an evolution both of her art, and of her identity, as in order to make these songs, she had to stop hiding and start asserting herself – embracing her truth and reclaiming her voice in the process. The resulting music is unapologetically intense and uncompromisingly raw, and nowhere does this resonate more than on the album’s seductive, soul-stirring title track: A hauntingly cathartic and confessional alt-rock fever dream, “QUIET, IN YOUR SERVICE” is Echos’ inner reckoning and reclamation – an intimate anthem of upheaval and healing, emotional release and empowerment.

The transformation feels complete, at least for now, as Norton lets go of the person she once was and steps into an exciting era of newfound power, passion, and possibility.

QUIET, IN YOUR SERVICE – ECHOS
Break myself open
What will it take
To keep me here
Cause I get tired
Of hoping
Some days I wish that I could disappear
(It’s never enough, it’s crushing me)
I was changing myself
To be what you want me to be
I swallowed your sin
Just to see what you want me to see
Oh I’ve been quiet, in your service
The pain you gave me wasn’t worth it

Atwood Magazine is proud to be premiering the Slater Goodson-directed music video for “QUIET, IN YOUR SERVICE” – a heavy and hard-hitting thesis statement that’s as unflinchingly vulnerable as it is emotionally charged. The third track off Echos’ fourth LP reasserts and affirms 2025 as a new chapter – one where her quiet strength is louder than ever.

Breathe
But I’ve been choking
And can’t you see through
the bloodbaths you bring
I stay quiet
You don’t notice
Under all of the offerings

I’ve been quiet in your service, the pain you gave me wasn’t worth it…

“‘Quiet, in Your Service’ is a song about no longer making myself small for others,” the artist tells Atwood Magazine. “You can apply it to a toxic relationship of any kind. I spent the majority of my twenties trying to fit myself into a box so that I could be what everyone else around me wanted me to be. I’m thirty-one now, and this song felt like the final act in letting go of any remaining habits of pleasing people without checking in with myself so that I could truly and fiercely step into my power.”

“I felt like this album as a whole was a testament to me reclaiming my voice in ways I hadn’t before. I learned how to set better boundaries, how to love myself and how to believe in myself wholeheartedly for the first time in my life. I hope that these songs can inspire anyone else who may be going through something similar to know that the act of choosing ourselves isn’t selfish – the more we choose our own healing and learn how to step into self-love and empowerment/acceptance – the deeper we fall into alignment with all that is meant for us.”

Echos comes to a stunning climax as she reaches the chorus, pouring her heart out and wearing her soul on her sleeve for all to see, hear, and feel:
