Nashville based singer/songwriter Savanna Leigh carefully crafts her songs with an emphasis on expression and relatable lyricism.

Set to bright indie pop melodies, her music speaks to those searching for inner healing. Her latest single “you don’t exist yet” is no exception, articulating vulnerability and fantasy simultaneously. The 24-year-old musician found herself experiencing hopeless delusions on tour, leading to the creation of this empowering anthem. Looking in each and every direction, she anticipated to find that special person in the crowd she could call her own. Tour became an exciting mystery for the artist, going to each city singing as if she was calling out to that person. Which city would he be in? Or would he make an appearance at all? In an attempt to control all of the thoughts running through her mind, Leigh channeled them into her latest single.

feels so mundane
waiting around for the right thing
i hate the chase
but i’m craving something exciting
you don’t even exist yet
i can only imagine
how good it’s gonna get
no second guessing

“I wrote this song having a sense of longing for a future connection with someone who feels like they already belong in my life,” Leigh tells Atwood Magazine.

“You can sense quiet hope within the lyrics where I want to take listeners on a journey from start to finish through the patience and imagination of waiting for love and believing that when the time comes, it will all have been worth it. You can hear the gentle loneliness in the production at the beginning guiding listeners into feeling more and more hope as the song builds. That’s what I want out of this song, for those who feel like all is lost to have this be their beacon of light.”

This longing for a picture-perfect life, and love, can weigh on a person, absorbing their innermost thoughts. Leigh comforts fans, emphasizing that they’re not the only ones wondering when love will enter their lives. She reminds herself, and listeners, that though the wait may seem exhausting, it will be worthwhile.

but it’ll be worth the wait
when you’re here one day

and I won’t have to write these songs
so I’m glad I stayed ’cause it’s not too late
for you to start to sing along
and I’ve been so patient
’cause I’m always saying
that it’ll be worth the wait
when you’re here one day

and i won’t have to write these songs
