Released March 20, 2024, “WISH N A PRAYER” is Juice Mazelee’s second song of the year following February’s “EVEN-IF,” and the latest single taken off his forthcoming second album, HERE NOW N FOREVER, out June 20, 2024. Produced by The Third, “WISH N A PRAYER” is a sonically smoldering, emotionally nuanced look-back on Mazelee’s late teenage years into his early twenties – those pivotal parts of his timeline responsible for making him the man he is today not through nurture, but through action.
Through one long verse bookended by a heartfelt hook, Mazelee unpacks the past to take a long, hard look at the person he was and the choices he made in that transition from boyhood to manhood:

“Coming of age and being a young adult was a bit of a curve for me,” Mazelee (born Jaharri Marchè Harrison) tells Atwood Magazine. “I viewed money as a here today, gone tomorrow kind of situation, leading to a mentality of careless spending and having to get things right – which I’m sure we’ve all experienced in our youth at some point.”
“In ‘WISH N A PRAYER,’ I say, ‘He used to think that faith is all you need to manifest bands, he learned that lesson by 19 when every dollar came in.’ This part is especially important to me because it connects me to the listener through one of my personal experiences. I had my own idea of adulthood at the time, and this is me looking back.”
In “WISH N A PRAYER,” we hear a young Mazelee figuring out, through older Mazelee’s eyes, that he’s on his own; that he has the power to make himself or break himself; and that life is a fine balance between spending today and saving up for tomorrow – that goes for far more than just money.
