YUNGBLUD isn’t tiptoeing into 2025 – he’s kicking the doors off the pub hinges with “Lovesick Lullaby,” a riotous, guitar-charged anthem that finds the Doncaster native back on home turf, louder and prouder than ever.

Stream: “Lovesick Lullaby” – YUNGBLUD
Fresh off the sprawling introspection of “Hello Heaven, Hello,” YUNGBLUD’s latest single is a brash, stylish reminder of what happens when British punk spirit meets pop ambition.
Clad in Burberry and blaring through your speakers like a pint-glass smash on a Saturday night, “Lovesick Lullaby” is YUNGBLUD at his most unfiltered, electric, and unmistakably British.
From the moment the first distorted guitar riff crashes through the speakers, “Lovesick Lullaby” makes one thing undeniably clear: This is a homecoming. Not the quiet, sentimental kind – but a loud, wild, pint-spilling return to the chaos, culture and attitude of British music. At just under three minutes, the track is a jet-propelled, no-holds-barred celebration of the UK’s rich punk-pop lineage, delivered with YUNGBLUD’s signature snarl and swagger.

Feel shit when I wake up,
takes about two hours for me to come around
I′m not going through a break-up,
but it feels like that today somehow
So let’s keep it professional,
I got things on my mind that my mind don′t like
You look nice on the outside,
do you wanna come out tonight?
‘Cause I
I wanna feel good emotions
in this lovesick lullaby
After the sprawling, introspective “Hello Heaven, Hello” – a nine-minute epic that flirted with spiritualism and sonic experimentation – “Lovesick Lullaby” is a sharp pivot. Here, YUNGBLUD swaps existential searching for sweaty exuberance.
“Making this song was a f*ing party and you can hear that on the recording,” he said recently – and he’s not wrong. Every second pulses with energy, from the boisterous drums to the infectious vocal hooks that feel tailor-made for a summer festival scream-along.
The accompanying music video, directed by Charlie Sarsfield, is a fast-paced love letter to British pop culture. Kitted out in Burberry, Fred Perry, and Sir Tom Baker tailoring, YUNGBLUD cruises through London in the back of a Mini Cooper (or is it a black cab?) before spilling into a packed-out pub. There, surrounded by loyal fans and cheeky visual nods to the iconic 1982 Maxell “Break the Sound Barrier” advert, he looks every inch the chaotic prince of UK alt-rock. It’s stylish, tongue-in-cheek, and instantly iconic – a visual extension of the song’s brash confidence.

What’s most striking about “Lovesick Lullaby” is its unapologetic Britishness.
From the slang-laced lyrics to the fish-and-chip hangover tales that inspired its creation, this single plants a flag firmly back on home soil. “It felt as though my feet left the ground a little too much and I had to bring myself back… to British music, to British art and culture,” YUNGBLUD explained. And bring himself back he has, with pounding drums, gritty guitars, and a shout-along chorus that oozes Camden Town energy.
I went out with a girl, right?
But I should have gone out with her mate instead
I always pick the wrong people,
they make me feel like I’m sick in the head
So then I go on a daydream
where I know that I′m wrong, and it makes me right
You looked cool this morning,
do you wanna go out tonight?
′Cause I
I wanna feel good emotions
in this lovesick lullaby
“Lovesick Lullaby” wears its influences on its Fred Perry sleeves: there’s the punk bite of The Clash, the glam swagger of early Arctic Monkeys, and even a touch of Britpop pomp. Yet, it never feels derivative. YUNGBLUD has an uncanny ability to fuse his inspirations into something distinctly his own. He’s always been a musical shapeshifter – part poet, part provocateur – and this single is a reminder that at the core of all the noise and theatricality lies a genuine love for the craft.

With two UK Number 1 albums, over six billion global streams, and a growing army of fans across the globe, YUNGBLUD has emerged as one of the most compelling voices of his generation.
He’s as comfortable headlining arena tours as he is headlining culture conversations – blurring lines between rock and rebellion, identity and industry. This year alone, he launched his own festival, BludFest, and released his first book, You Need to Exist: A Book to Love and Destroy, which soared to Number 1 on the Sunday Times Best Sellers list.
But “Lovesick Lullaby” is more than just another chart-ready banger. It’s a mission statement. A blast of neon noise that reclaims his roots and reaffirms his role as a cultural disruptor. In an age of algorithmic hits and plastic pop, YUNGBLUD’s latest offering is raw, real, and raucously alive.
I bought some hash from a dealer
in a pathetic attempt to impress my friends
But they didn’t like it,
so I kept it all to myself instead
Then I went back to the man′s house,
and he completely f*ing changed my life
He told me this story about a lovesick lullaby
Hash man, hash man,
go round the roundabout
‘Cause I
I wanna feel good emotions
in a la-la-la-la-la-la
I, I wanna feel good emotions
in a lovesick lullaby
As the last chorus crashes down and the feedback fades, one thing is certain: This isn’t just a song. It’s a moment.
And if “Lovesick Lullaby” is anything to go by, YUNGBLUD isn’t just back – he’s leading the charge.
