The Peach Music Festival (started by the Allman Brothers Band) returns to Scranton, PA for its tenth anniversary to showcase the best and brightest in the jam band scene today, with acts like Billy Strings, Goose, Trey Anastasio Band, and a closing set by The Black Crowes guaranteeing something for everyone.

It’s almost that time: Where your friends gather on Montage Mountain, that is. This year will be an extra special version of The Peach Music Festival as they celebrate their ten year anniversary. From top to bottom, this is one of the premier festivals lineups of the summer with some of the best talent in the music scene today. From June 30 through July 3, the festival founded by The Allman Brothers Band in conjunction with Live Nation Entertainment promises four days of music on three different stages: The Peach Stage, the Mushroom Stage, and the Grove Stage.

On the first evening, there will be one of the hottest acts on the touring circuit today, Billy Strings. The Grammy Award nominated artist has shared the stage with the likes of Bob Weir, Les Claypool, and Marty Stuart over the past few months. His band are some of the best of the best when it comes to their instruments, including Billy Failing (Banjo), Royal Masat (Bass), and Jarrod Walker (Mandolin).

Known for decades to be one of the best “one man bands,” Keller Williams has decades of experience entertaining his crowds with his acoustic guitar work as well as looping abilities.

One of the groups that sure to be talked about at the end of the weekend, that will keep your toes tapping all weekend long is Yam Yam, hailing from The Keystone State. Their blend of funk, jazz, and soul will be a pure delight to attendees of all ages.

Thursday is the day where people settle into their four days at The Peach Festival, get reacquainted with old friends, meet new friends, and gear up for four days of bliss.

On Friday, you have the jam band “heavy hitters” from the likes of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening. The list is absolutely stacked for the second day of the festival, with the funk/dance party of The Motet along with the likes of piano/organ wizard Marco Benevento (Trio) featuring Karina Rykman on bass and David Butler on the drums. Out of all the bands on Friday, you will definitely not want to miss The Bogie Band, featuring one of the best multi-instrumentalists out there, along with the free-flowing drumming of Joe Russo. The Bogie Band featuring Joe Russo recently released their debut album, The Prophets In The City, via Royal Potato Family.

The beauty of this festival is that, while it’s geared toward fans of the jam world, it also offers a wide variety of genres, like the soul and funk sound of The Nth Power, flavorful bluegrass of The Kitchen Dwellers, and the straight up funk of Funk You. The young, up-and-coming jam band Eggy, who have been climbing the ranks in the jam band world over the past two years, will be sure to bring the heat on Friday.

Get your highlighters out, because the music on Saturday will be flowing on all three stages. One of the surprise acts of last year’s festival was Celisse, who had a very special guest and her dear friend Trey Anastasio on guitar. Speaking of amazing female artists that will grace the Peach Music Festival stages is Karina Rykman (Experiment). The young bass player always brings the energy level to 110%, and you will see Rykman throughout the weekend in a number of projects.

Daniel Donato once was known to busk outside of Phish and John Mayer shows. Soon, musicians will be busking outside of his shows: He grew up as a “certified Deadhead” as his Mom was pregnant with him while traveling throughout the country to see the iconic group. Donato and his group Cosmic Country are rising stars and sure to be hitting the big time in the next few months. Jaimoe (John Lee Johnson) will bring the true Peach Music Festival spirit with him; as one of the founding members of The Allman Brothers Band, he is one of the reasons why on March 10, 2020 “The Brothers” celebrated their 50th Anniversary.

If you’re from the New England area, you are familiar with Neighbor, who made their Peach Music Festival debut last year late night with an electric set on The Grove Stage. Throughout the year they have gained fans coast to coast, and are sure to bring another performance that will be talked about throughout the weekend.

Headlining the Saturday night festivities is the one and only Goose. If you were lucky enough to catch the Connecticut natives on the Grove Stage in 2019, then it’s no surprise that in the past three years their fanbase has grown and they are selling out venues left and right across the country.

As one of the most prolific guitar players for decades, Trey Anastasio will bring his octet to The Main Stage. The horn section (Natalie Cressman, Jennifer Hartswick and James Casey), along with his long time friend Russ Lawton keeping the beats on the kit. Rounding out the group is the newest member, Dezron Dezron on the bass, and Ray Paczkowski tickling the ivories.

The final day of the festival will feature two stages (The Peach Stage & The Grove Stage). Rising young stars in the scene today and Southern Jersey natives are Dogs In A Pile. Known for their energetic improvised sets, along with the influences of jazz, fusion, funk all rolled into one will sure to have a dance party. On Sunday you are in for one of the best supergroups to hit the stage with, The Word. Robert Randolph, pedal steel guitar wizard, John Medeski from Medeski, Martin, and Wood on the keys, along with delta blues virtuosos North Mississippi All-Stars will make for one of the best shows of the four-day festival.

Closing out what will be a magical four days on the mountain are The Black Crowes. With 36 years of material, the rock n’ roll outfit from Georgia have made wave after wave over generations of fans, from 1990’s multiplatinum debut album Shake Your Money Maker straight through to the present.

Without a doubt, this year’s Peach Music Festival promises to be a memorable experience for all!
