I’d like to consider this song and lyrics about love to enable an escape from reality. It certainly is for me; I’ve been single for years!

A soothing ode to intimate connection, Saint Joshua’s second single is a dreamy infatuation and an infatuated dream. Smoldering, intoxicating RnB swells and soars as “Love Is…” captures, with enchanting harmonies and rich sonics, the beauty, tenderness. and magic of love.

Love Is… – Saint Joshua
Love is a place where there’s
only space for you and I

It’s a hill I die
Take me to the moon
Or the sun
Or the earth too
I heard there’s a place I deserve you

Independently released May 14, 2021, “Love Is…” arrives this spring as Saint Joshua’s sophomore single, following the 26-year-old Londoner’s formal introduction “I Like” this past March. Taken off his forthcoming debut EP Pilot (set for release this June), “Love Is…” explores the depths of soul through a minimalist R&B lens, employing colorful R&B harmonies reminiscent of Songs in the Key of Life-era Stevie Wonder, but with an extra soft, delicate touch.

Love means something different for all of us, and through compellingly poetic lyrics, the artist speaks to all of our interpretations at once. It’s romantic, heartfelt, and existential – all while showcasing a wealth of vibrant textures and Saint Joshua’s own rich, expressive voice.

Take me on a plane let’s fly
Show me you’re a risk worth taking
I am not afraid to die
Baby you know what I’m saying
Let’s live a life of metaphors
Make me feel incredible baby
Show me love unseen before
Baby you know what I’m saying
Love is a place where
there’s only space for you and I

It’s a hill I die

Described by the artist as an escape, “Love Is…” arrives like a wondrous, romantic daydream.

Vibrant, moody harmonies rise and fall with tantalizing energy and grace as the artist pours himself into a sweet surrender.

“This song takes you to another world and is a perfect summer delight,” Joshua shared upon his song’s release, highlighting “the production that mirrors the meaning of the song, with big flowing dreamlike harmonies” and the “strong silky lead vocals backed to a simple, but effective beat.”

Baby take me to some where there’s only space for you and I
It’s a hill I die
I die about a hundred times (I die about a hundred times)
You die about a hundred more
I think about you every night
I think about you every time
Love… Love…

“Love Is…” effortlessly captures the feeling of being the only two people in the world; of being so in the moment, that you forget all your worries and problems, and simply exist in the present. It’s a captivating sensation, and in bringing that feeling to life in song, “Love Is…” recreates that magic and beauty while paying tribute to love’s utter magnificence.

No doubt Saint Joshua has more musical goodness in store, but in “Love Is…” he’s found a way to radiate with subtle warmth and charm. Look out for the artist’s debut EP, set for release this June.
