Gallery: Bands on Film at Treefort 10

Glimpse some of Treefort Music Fest’s faces behind the music in a series of point-and-shoot portraits from the Boise-based festival’s tenth installment.

It is humanly impossible to see every band on Treefort’s massive bill, but luckily, we were able to catch up with some of them in between sets.

Shot on nostalgic Psychic Blues and Ektar 100 film, we met face-to-face (and masked) with some of the artists we’ve interviewed remotely over the course of the pandemic for lightning-speed portrait sessions, including Indigo De Souza to Durand Jones & The Indications. We also snapped some photos of new favorites like Sour Widows and Babehoven, who will undoubtedly be on every indie fan’s radar soon.

The inimitable Deerhoof returned with their first performance in two years, while newcomer Pictoria Vark marked the completion of the first leg of her first-ever tour.

Treefort did what it does best in bringing together artists from various walks of life, points in their careers, and parts of the world, and this year was especially a cause for celebration as we all find a sense of normalcy again. Take a look through the gallery to see who else we ran into over the course of the music-filled week.
