Stream: “WORK” – ATEEZ
After standing in the July Texas heat, concertgoers trekked to find their seats in the field that typically hosts the Texas Rangers baseball team – only tonight, they were there to see K-Pop boy band ATEEZ. Filling up a stadium of this size is truly a testament to their growth as a group. This concert marks history as they are now the first ever K-Pop boy group to ever hold a standalone concert at Arlington’s Globe Life Field. Debuting back in 2018, ATEEZ had humble beginnings under a small K-Pop company with nothing but big dreams and unfiltered talent. They first came to Texas in 2019, selling out a venue with about two thousand fans.
With a capacity of just over 40,000 ticket holders, this marked their biggest show of their current tour. As the sun began to set and the start of their three-hour long concert began, the roars of their fans, better known as ATINY, traveled throughout Globe Life Field. Their concert is nothing short of spectacular, as they show off their live singing and complex choreography.
ATEEZ, consisting of members Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho, are known for their dynamic performances and upbeat songs.
The octet underwent costume changes, hours of hard-hitting choreography, and unaltered vocals without a sweat. Their music spans from ballad heavy tunes, belted primarily by their youngest member to EDM beats and R&B inspired sounds. The crowd sang along to their songs word for word in English and Korean and the entirety of the stadium was lit up by their group lightstick. The energy in the room was impeccable and their set list consisted of fan favorite anthems like “Crazy Form,” “Say My Name,” “Halazia,” “Work,” and more.
Besides their pure talent, the eight piece are also known for their personable characteristics and fun-loving personalities that shine on stage.
The members took their time to engage with fans and made jokes on stage. ATINY showed their love throughout the night with screams, cute signs, and flailing around their lights ticks. Yunho did not miss his change to get the thousands of fans to yeehaw with him, as this was their only Texas stop. Towards the end of the show, while wearing a cowboy hat leader, Hongjoong thanked the crowd for showing up for them.
This is a must-see tour for any K-Pop fan or anyone who loves music created by a. group of dreamers. ATEEZ are true powerhouses with all eight members being destined to be on stage. ATINY’s love and dedication showed a group of boys from South Korea, that everything really is bigger in Texas.
